OUTLINE FOR THE ATLANTON MILLENNIUM JOURNALS, OR "THE CIRCLE OF LIGHT"

A Historical Mythography of the Windameir Circle

In a larger sense, these books speak of the Mystical secrets of the Ancients, with clues and guidelines that enable one who follows the Higher Law to seek out the road which will take them Home. In parable and allegory, we find these small tales as markers along a dark and shadowed way, where the unwary are lost, and pulled away by the Dark One's forces. To say they are of Good and Evil does not explain them fully, although there is that structure, and one without the other would not exist. These are more like the stories of how the elves raise their roses in the East Garden of Cypher, or of the sorrows of comrades who have lost brave friends. With each discovery of another passage of the heart, we track closer to the real Way, and find that the secret journey we are on is but our voyage through the vast Lower Meadows of Windameir, and that the path Home is as clearly marked as the path at the end of our front steps.

Sometimes the heart forgets, and needs reminding.

The Books:

"The Brandigore Gate" is an introduction to the Journals. It is a story that introduces the reader to the loyal and courageous comrades Bear, Otter, Dwarf, and the wizard Faragon Fairingay. Mention is made of Greyfax Grimwald, and many more characters who people the vast geography which is Atlanton Earth and Cypher.

The saga then opens with "The Horn Of Bruinthor". It follows a bear cub from his youth, to his rise as the powerful leader, Borim Bruinthor.

"Ancient Delvings" is next, telling of the dwarf, Brian Brandigore, and of the part he and his ancient race play in the recounting of the journals.

"The Harp Of The Holding" tells of the history of the young Trianion Starseeker, and his journey into greatness as one of the most powerful of the Elder's of the Circle of Windameir.

"The Pipe Of Ring Parath" details the ongoing battles of the struggling forces of the Circle with the Dark One, and Olthar Othlindin, from the otter race, who is destined to challenge the Darkness to keep it from shrouding the Lower Meadows of Atlanton Earth.

"Dragon Winter" recalls the legend of animal friends during the long periods of time where there is a seeming lull in the conflict between the Light and Dark. The reader will meet many delightful and unforgettable characters, and explore the intricate world of friendship and courage, and a struggle to overcome the treacherous forces of the Dark One.

"The Fires Of Windameir" introduces us to Owen Helwin, and his exploits. This is the beginning of the Silver Age, when the other tribes of Atlanton begin to be seen less and less abroad. We meet Deros here, a courageous princess who has searched far and wide for someone who is willing to go to the aid of her beleaguered homeland.

"The Sea Of Silence" takes the reader upon a voyage toward a distant and mysterious island, where there is growing evidence of the long dormant forces of the Dark One beginning to emerge once again. More than one evil mind is at work, and the ancient scourge of the great beasts are freed again onto Atlanton Earth.

"A Wanderer's Return" finds Owen Helwin and his followers hard pressed to keep the lamp of hope from dimming. New Allies are found, along with new and more powerful enemies to contend with.

"The Bridge Of Dawn" draws to a conclusion the great adventures and daring exploits of the son of Famhart and Linne. It is but the middle grounds of a vast and mystic circle, one that is continued in the following books.

"Greyfax Grimwald" opens upon a vast stage, now set for the final act to begin. We run into our old companions from "The Brandigore Gate" again, Bear Otter, and Dwarf, who set off from across Calix Stay, to try to return the Archenchest and it's sacred secrets to those left below the Boundary.

"Faragon Fairingay" introduces us to the hot-headed young friend of Greyfax, and we find more signs of the continuing inroads the Dark One has made on Atlanton Earth.

"Calix Stay" is the Great River, the Boundary between the Upper and Lower Meadows of Windameir. We see the companions, Bear, Otter, and Dwarf, as they struggle on toward their destiny, and their final battles with Dorini, the Dark One, sister to the Lady of Light, Lorini.

"Squaring The Circle" draws the reader into the vast maelstrom which is the world of Darkness at war with the Light. Dreadful armies of Gorgolac and Worlugh are unleashed upon Atlanton, and the companions must overcome enemies from all sides, in order to fight their way through to keep the Archenchest safe from the grasp of Dorini. This volume brings to a close the grand adventures of the entire series of the ancient world of Atlanton.
